CHAPTER 10

The next day, Reyansh and Ishani got busy with their daily routines. Ishani had an early start, quickly getting ready and heading to work. Her day was packed with meetings, emails, and office work. She barely got a moment to sit and check her phone. Every time she finished one task, another one was waiting.

Reyansh's day was no different. He had back-to-back meetings, urgent client calls, and deadlines to meet. He, too, wanted to take a break and talk to Ishani, but work kept him occupied. He wanted to text her, but before he could, someone called his name, and he had to focus on work again.

Hours passed like this. Whenever Reyansh got a small break, he checked his phone, hoping for a message from Ishani. When he finally got a chance, he quickly dialed her number, but she didn't pick up. "Shayad busy hogi," he thought and went back to work.

Ishani was in the middle of an important work and due to which she haven't seen the call as her mobile was on silent .A little later ,when she had a moment she saw his missed call but couldn't return it immediately. She felt a little bad but knew he would understand. She quickly sent a message, "Aapne call kiya tha?"

After some seconds Reyansh replied:"Haan , bas baat krne ka Mann ho rha tha "

A soft smile comes on Ishani's  face after reading his text"Sorry I was busy "she replied.

"Koi baat nhi , aap kaam kriye appna hum shaam ko baat krte hai"he texted

She smiled at his words and replied"ok"and went back to work.

Reyansh read the message and kept his phone aside, knowing she was as busy as him.

Throughout the day, both of them kept thinking about each other in small moments. Ishani, while writing an email, imagined Reyansh saying something funny and smiled to herself. Reyansh, while working on his laptop, suddenly remembered Ishani's expressions and shook his head with a small smile.

By evening , both of them returned home exhausted yet carrying an unspoken longing for each other. After reaching home, both freshened up, had dinner with their families, and quickly went to their rooms. Ishani sat on her bed, waiting for Reyansh to call. She thought about calling him first but felt a little hesitant. It was a strange feeling, waiting like this.

Just then, her phone rang. It was Reyansh. She smiled and answered.

"Hi"Reyansh said

"Hello" Ishani replied softly.

"How was your day?"he asked

Ishani sighed, her voice carrying exhaustion. "It was quiet busy,I have three events to manage continuously for three days , bas usi ke liye sb arrangements check kr rhi thi."

Reyansh said. "ohh, that must have been hectic"

"Bohot," Ishani admitted. "What about you?"she asked

"Mine was busy too ,  As we have got few new projects so there were back to back meetings, It was tiring as well"Reyansh replied.

Ishani adjusted the pillow behind her. "Aapko ab kaisa lg rha hai?you should rest we'll talk tommorow"

"A little better, and I'm laying on bed while talking to you so  there is no need to cut the call" Reyansh replied.

"you sure?"She asked hesitantly

"Han,Ishani"he replied

There was a small pause before he continued, "In just few days I don't how  you became such a big part of my routine Ishani. It's strange ,but if I don't talk to you ,the day feels incomplete "

Ishani exhaled softly she felt warmth rising to her cheeks unsure how to respond . "Umm...I guess we've just gotten used to each other"she replied hesitantly.

Reyansh chuckled"we've?means you too felt this today?"

She doesn't say anything for some minutes .

"Bataiye Ishani"Reyansh smiled and said softly.

"I-I don't know"she replied

"Aapko pta nhi ya aap batana nhi chahati"he asked teasingly

Ishani nervously "S-Sach mai pta nahi"

"Ok,and used to each other that sounds too ordinary for what I'm feeling. It's more like...I search for you, without realising it.Even in the middle of  a chaotic day, a part of me was waiting for your call or message."he said with sincerity.

Ishani bit her lips, her heart skipping a beat"y-you're just saying that."She murmured.

"No, I mean it"Reyansh Said firmly yet softly "Like right now-I should be exhausted, but it feel like  just talking to you is enough to take the stress away"he added.

Ishani smiled softly, though she remained quiet.

Reyansh hesitated for a second, then asked"Can I say something?"

"Hmm"She responded.

"I wish you were here.I mean... I wouldn't say much , but just sitting beside you for a while would've been enough I am saying it because Yesterday when I was near you , when I hugged you I forgot all about my stress"His voice was lower now, more sincere.

Ishani's fingers tightened around the bedsheets."Ohh.."was all she could saying remain silent for some seconds.

Reyansh chuckled at her silence."Did I make you shy ?" he teased.

"N-No!it's just-"Ishani's voice faltered.

"You totally are",He teased again, enjoying the way she struggled to respond.

She huffed."Fine, Maybe a little"

Reyansh smiled"Good.Beacuse honestly,I think it's adorable "

Ishani shook her head and smiled"You're really impossible Reyansh"

"And you're becoming my favourite Ishani"He teased again but his voice carrying sincerity.

Her heart fluttered at his words , and she have no response except a soft laugh.

"Aaj din bhar aapne mere baare mein kab kab socha?" Reyansh asked casually.

Ishani hesitated, feeling her cheeks warm. "Kabhi kabhi... beech beech mein."

"Matlab bohot baar," Reyansh teased.

Ishani nodded to herself, feeling warmth spread through her chest. "Aap  ab rest kijiye. Kal phir busy din hai,So jaiye ," she said, her voice softer than before.

"Aap bhi," Reyansh said, equally gentle.

Ishani hesitated before whispering, "Good night, Reyansh."

"Good night, Ishani," he replied, and the call ended.

Ishani put her phone aside, exhaling deeply. She covered her face with her hands, feeling her cheeks warm. She didn't realize when a small smile formed on her lips as she lay back, heart still racing, thinking about their conversation.
